Hello!

I live in the beautiful Columbia Gorge with my husband and my three young children. We have a rather abnormally serene home life, but I'm not going to complain!

Through being homeschooled, and now homeschooling my children, I have developed a deep love for learning. I love doing it myself, but even more I love helping others on their journey.

My greatest skills are anything food related, writing and structural editing, and being a wife and mother. I also dabble in a million diverse things such as urban foraging, dollmaking, and haircutting.

I don't have any degrees or professional training other than Toastmasters. But I do have considerable practical experience.

With children: I am the oldest of four children and we were all homeschooled. So I spent a lot of time helping with my younger siblings. As a teenager I honed my skills through regular babysitting, volunteering with special Olympics and at a therapeutic riding center, and teaching Sunday School at my church. As an adult, I read my husband's college textbooks for his courses in Education and discussed them with him. I am also the mother of three delightful people, ages 5, 3, and 1.

With food, I've been cooking since age five. I've been inventing recipes of my own since age eight. As a teenager I started tackling more difficult techniques and exploring more cuisines. Then I married a college student and had children. I took up urban foraging, bread making, and canning to help make ends meet, and tutored fellow student wives in cost-effective cooking. Now I'm writing a cook book.

As for writing, I just really love words! I am constantly writing something. I have had a few opportunities to grow my skill as a writer and editor. I worked as the ghost writer for a grant proposal, wrote a novel (it had some promise, but I was young and needed to develop my writing skills better), kept a poetry blog, and now I'm working on a couple different writing projects of my own, and looking for opportunities to write for others so that I can grow my portfolio.
