Training & Qualifications
Alison Malisa, MPH, is a Nature and Forest Therapy Guide devoted to the education, research, and design of pedagogical strategies to improve mental health, especially in the realm of economics education.
As a high school economics teacher, Alison founded Peace Profits with a vision of designing economic ecosystems for peace, prosperity, regeneration, and wellbeing for all.
In the process, she developed a Relational Design Thinking process that brings together the transformative practices of “noticing nature”, connected communication, healing centered engagement, design thinking, and the evolutionary science of cooperation.
Alison is currently researching the impact of this pedagogical process on social-emotional wellbeing of students.
Alison also has a show on her local bilingual radio dedicated to healing economic trauma. She is active with the international Community Currency Alliance, the US Solidarity Economy Network, the California Public Banking Alliance, and locally supporting the use Simbi, especially among the Latinx community. Alison is fluent in Spanish and Swahili.
