Nothing's worse than packing all your equipment all the way in to your campsite, only to find that you forgot an essential item like a can opener, a knife, water bottles, or even food.
I can help you prepare a First Aid or Survival Kit for any level of experience, from first-timers to advanced mountaineers, and for any weight or volume.
For First Aid Kit: I will give the basic conditions/ailments your kit should treat, what equipment you should use, it's price, where to find it, when to use it, and how to use it as well as any possible secondary effects. I'll discuss arrangement of equipment so as not to crush anything.
Survival Kit: (I'll need a general description of your planned Area of Operation) I will go over the needs of every hiker and what equipment fulfills those needs, discuss the need for reliable navigation equipment, compare typical caloric (energy) requirements, foods that satisfy them, and how to procure your own food, typical water requirements and the best water carrying systems, and of course the psychology of survival and how you possess the greatest tool already: The mind.
Training & Qualifications
I am a junior studying Horticultural Science and Microbiology at Montana State University. I have about 5 years of backcountry hiking and camping experience and have used my knowledge of backcountry paramedicine to save my own life, as well as those of others. I have camped in every condition. From a hot day giving way to sleet at night, to winter coming within hours, Montana has taught me that preparedness and confidence in your own abilities can and will get you through seemingly impossible situations.
