Mediation Problem Solving

If you are having a problem with another person, mediation is here to help! Mediation is a process where a neutral third person facilitates a discussion and negotiation between two conflicting parties. This process is used in many different areas from neighborhood centers to courts all over the United States. There are many different positive aspects of mediation including, control of the outcome, enhanced communication, learning new information, and future-focused agreements.
Mediation is used to keep problems from escalating, and in many places as an alternative to litigation. Some common parties in mediation are: landlord-tenant, roommates, business-client and spouses, but it can be between any two people, groups or parties that are in disagreement. The outcomes of mediation are generally preferred over legal outcomes because parties have control of the outcomes, and agreements can be more flexible and creative than what a court can often provide.
