Jason had a good eye for spotting the tension (or lack thereof) in my story. His unbias remarks on characterization were useful in identifying areas w...here I needed to change how I presented them. He caught many tense issues, flagged many of the good things about the story, and was throughout in his response. He also had a sense of what I was trying to achieve as an author and was able to recommend appropriate changes.
