That blur of green around you when you walk through the forest is actually a community of unique and interesting plants, each with their own story and each dependent on one another. On a walk through the forest, I can teach you the basics of plant identification and plant ecology, and help you get to know several plants well enough that you'll be able to recognize them wherever you go.
Lessons are customized to your interests and needs. Other ecological topics can be included too.
Training & Qualifications
I have been doing hands-on, outdoor science education for the past 5 years, including a year as a plants field instructor at outdoor school. I have a bachelor's degree in environmental science, a love of the outdoors, and a passion for plants.
Availability & Preferences
I work a school schedule, so I am most available on weekends and during the summer. I am very flexible on location. I live in Estacada but I don't mind heading in to Portland or going on an adventure elsewhere!
