Your POEMS in my Poetry Anthology

5

5 for fulfilling my request - Virtual OK - Posted Jan 31, 2017

Proceeds for this Anthology will be donated to OPERATION SMILE - a charity that helps kids with cleft palettes and lifts.
https://secure.operationsmile.org/

I'm publishing a poetry anthology and am looking for contributions to include so that it's not just a collection of my poems. The poems can be any style, rhyming, non-rhyming, funny, sad, etc.

My poems are about dementia and the impact it has on the person suffering and those around them. Some poems are painful and others see the funny side of the situation.

So your poems should be able to stand alongside these. Topics like, the brain, family, relationships, pain, suffering, happiness, joy, bonding, illness, overcoming adversity .... I want a mix of thought-provoking and some that will lift the spirit.

This will be an exciting book to collaborate on, and I really want to include an amazing cross section of content and styles.

If you'd like to contribute, send me the poems or haikus you'd like me to consider. No limit to how many you can submit.

You will retain copyright for your poem and will be able to post it and use it where ever you like, but you will need to grant me the permission to publish it in the Anthology

Why Operation Smile?

I think humans are a resilient lot! No matter what life throws at us we can always find a slice of joy or happiness in any given situation. To me, Operation Smile is the perfect non-profit to partner with, as it helps kids to find their smile.

My style of poetry is rhyming and a little light-hearted, but they contain themes of lessons I've learnt and showcase the humor in difficult situations. Obviously a book containing just this type and style of poetry would be too much. So I really want to create an anthology that features different styles and different topics, so that there's something for every reader to connect with.

Sharing your poetry can be difficult, but have faith in your own creative abilities and share your words for a good cause. Each surgery costs $240 - and we can use the power of our words to help readers connect with different situations, as well as helping a child get their smile back.

I know 5 Simbi is a low value for your poetry - but that's driven by a desire to create a diverse anthology, not the value that I put on your creativity.

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS BY THE END OF JANUARY 2019.
