12 Step Recovery Support
I will be there for you as an advocate and ally within the 12 step program. Are you struggling to overcome addictions? Are you a member of a 12 step program? Just want someone like-minded to reach out to? That's what Im here for. Contact me via simbi, skype or facebook and we can have a virtual meeting, or, if you prefer, I can just encourage you, or even just say a prayer for you! No reasonable request refused! This program has worked wonders for me and I want to pass on that gift to others. In the program we like to say that we can only keep what we have by giving it away. Is this a paradox? It sure is! intrigued? Perfect! I want YOU to recover, in part selfishly, so that I can recover too =) Im also open to answering any questions that you may have on the subject if I am at all able, not that I am any sort of authority on the program or literature, Ive just been around long enough to "catch the bug" =)
Training & Qualifications
I am about eighteen months sober at this point, not that anyone's counting ;-) Anyhow, it's more time than some and less than others haha! I won't spill my whole story here, since some of it is less than savory (whose isn't?) but suffice to say Ive had a history with drug and alcohol abuse which eventually led me to 12 step recovery. Luckily I was able to catch on quickly upon entering the program. Some things I attribute my success to are: finding and staying connected to a sponsor, having a home group, maintaining a service position, and mentoring and sponsoring others in the program. As far as sponsees go, they don't all recovery, but they have all taught me valuable lessons and enriched my sobriety! One struggle I have had in the program has been with the idea of a "higher power" although I have at last come to a better understanding of just what that means to me.
