Hi, my name is Phil Wischmeyer and was born and raised on a farm in rural Ohio. After high school I joined the military and did six years in the Ohio Army National Guard including a tour overseas in Iraq.
After completing an associates in Computer Aided Drafting and Design, I began working as a mechanical drafter and stayed in that field for about four years before pursuing local entrepreneurship. I’ve co-owned and operated a collection agency and an artisan bread bakery, as well as worked as a partner and sports writer for the hockey website Along the Boards.
Today I live near Indian Lake, OH with my wife and three young children who we are currently homeschooling. We reside on an 11-acre property where we grow many different foods for our family. I am extremely passionate about regenerative agriculture, and self-sufficiency. This passion has led me to start my own edible landscape design business and also serve on the board of a local nonprofit that works to increase the production and access to locally-grown foods.
In my spare time I enjoy being outside, being with my family, reading, listening to/playing music and watching television..
