I will be a second set of eyes and read over short stories, essays, screenplays, your cover letter, or anything you'd like and make stylistic suggestions as well as correcting grammatical errors. I can be as objective or subjective as you would like to be, aligning my editing to your needs. If you would like, I can also fact-check any points you've made as long as it's within my area of expertise, so Ph.D. theses on neurobiology are out (sorry!).
Often, I will make you read a piece of writing out loud as this highlights errors that you (and even editing programs!) may have missed such as unnecessary additional words or using the wrong word. If you've written a script/screenplay, I'm happy to read it out loud with you.
One unit is up to 500 words.
I normally meet on video chat and use Google Docs to edit as this allows you to approve edits before they're made, but we can use whatever you're comfortable with.
Training & Qualifications
I have worked for 10 years as a tutor, editing work and teaching students between the ages of 3-25. In the past, I have had seven short pieces including short stories, poetry, and essays, published in anthologies. I have also written a screenplay which was performed at our local theatre.
