From haiku, to limerick, to sonnet, I am willing to write a beautiful piece of your choosing with whatever content you desire. Touching poem for a get well card? Done! DEATH OF A SEASON
Summer died today.
Snuffed out by a single icy breath.
The trees haven't noticed yet.
But everyone outside is wearing sweaters, and for the first time in months, turning on the heaters in their homes
Gone is the season of sun dresses and shorts, of burned noses and tanned shoulders,
And though there may yet be a few odd days that cling to the time we already know has passed,
And try to make us forget that it's over,
Gone is the heat that hung thick in the air, the scent of sunscreen and bugspray and sweat leaving with it.
And already I long for the beaches, for the picnics in the park,
Already I dread the frozen wasteland, watching the world disappear under a thick layer of white, unable to find warmth for six long months,
And despite the pristine beauty of the autumn leaves when they finally realize the time has come,
Still I find it hard to say say farewell to those blue skies,
And I can't help but grieve because...
Summer died today.
Training & Qualifications
First of all, I love poetry in all forms and frequencies, Second, I am a writer who happens to specialize in creating poems. In high school I received many awards for my writing abilities including Writer of the Year for 2010. I currently keep up with my skills by doing frequent poetry challenges and have even completed a rough draft of my first novel.
Availability & Preferences
I am usually free Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., but you should be able to get a hold of me most of the time, if you need to, these are just my working hours.
