About Jasmine Aguayo
I'm a woman of many talents and skills. I had the opportunity to be taught by local Chicago artists throughout my childhood from the age of 5 to 16. Every week I studied at Lil Street Art Gallery in Lincoln Park (now located in Ravenswood). Clay, acrylic, oil, ink, charcoal, metal, and fiber are among my favorite mediums.
Attending the University of Loyola, I studied psychology at great length. Despite my history with high academics, I pursued my passion; my love affair with words and art cannot be denied.
Another type of love produced my three children whom I raise and educate. Being a mother to them has come with its own unique lessons on life.
Technically, I've been working as a part-time commissioned artist since I was 14 years old, beginning with a handcrafted wedding ring. It wasn't until I was 18 that writing and physical media artistry became my career. Fifteen years later, and here we are. But there is always room for further development; therefore, I will never address myself as an expert.
I am an old fashioned businesswoman who is late to the internet party. I worked locally for most of my life. My online presence has only begun as of this year.
