I am on Simbi because it seems like a great way to create a sense of community by offering to help others out using your unique skills, experience, and knowledge. I find that sometimes it is easier to ask for help with something by going to a supportive community which Simbi seems to be doing.
I am currently a master's student studying chemical engineering and have worked as an engineer for a few years prior to pursuing my master's. Not only do I have experience studying and working in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field, but I also have a great interest in arts and crafts where some of my favourite things involve creative reuse and upcycling. I am also a highly organized individual (I probably had the most organized notes amongst my friend group in school) and I have experience editing different forms of writing, from technical documents to resumes.
Some of the things I can help with on Simbi are:
- Tutoring in STEM subjects such as math and science
- Proof Reading and Editing (e.g. resumes, graduate school applications, technical documents, and many other forms of writing)
- Arts, Crafts, Creative Reuse, Upcycling, Crochet, Paper Filigree/Quilling, etc. (Instagram: @not.sly.but.crafty)
- Organization: Managing/organizing projects, notes, workspaces, etc.
