I have been a portrait photographer for 10 years, since my senior year of high school. I love photographing nature, and people enjoying it. I specialize in portraits for families, maternity, children, engagements, nursing mothers, boudoir, and models. I especially love taking raw and empowering photos of women that make them feel beautiful.
My husband and I are working to build a sustainable homestead in West Michigan for our daughter to grow up on. We live on a small corner of a tree nursery, surrounded by rolling hills and open fields. We have a flock of 50+ free range laying hens, that provide us with a gorgeous rainbow of delicious eggs each day. We grow a wide variety of organic heirloom vegetables and herbs; this year we have 9 varieties of tomatoes alone! Our goal is to grow and preserve as much food as we need, and to trade or barter for what we can't produce ourselves. We intend to build a roadside stand to sell any excess produce we may have. We are learning and experimenting with canning and fermentation recipes, and hope to fill our pantry with delicious garden food to enjoy all winter long. We are trying to live simply, and in harmony with nature, hoping to leave the earth at least a tiny bit better than we found it. We are on a steep learning curve and doing our best to make it up as we go. Our life is exhausting, dirty, beautiful, and abundant. Every day brings a new chance to try and learn and grow and love!
