Peer-to-peer College Advising
10
I am a third year college student who can provide advice to high school or first-year college students on a variety of topics, such as:
-Choosing and applying to schools
-Finding scholarships
-Choosing a major and finding your first classes
-Moving away from home
My preferred way of meeting with students will be via Skype, but if there's a different system you'd like to use, we can discuss. I'm offering advising sessions of 30 minutes for just 10 points.
Disclaimers: My knowledge is based on my experiences in the United States. If you live outside the US, your college system is likely very different and I might not be of much help.
Training & Qualifications
I am an undergraduate student in my third year at the University of Oregon. Most of my advice is based in personal experience and research. However, I am employed by the UO as an assistant for a First-year Interest Group, which is a program at this university for helping first-year students get started, and I have training as a peer mentor through that.
Availability & Preferences
All evenings and weekends, just try to schedule with me a few days in advance.
