Immersive ASMR experience
35
Those of you who are well-acquainted with ASMR or have seen youtube videos: The in-person experience takes it to another level because you can incorporate senses beyond the auditory. I will come over with my collection of sounds, scents, and tactile stimuli to create an immersive ASMR experience for you!
ASMR naive? Read hella reddit posts about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/asmr/. From wikipedia: "Autonomous sensory meridian response is a term used for an experience characterized by a static-like or tingling sensation on the skin that typically begins on the scalp and moves down the back of the neck and upper spine. It has been compared with auditory-tactile synesthesia."
What to expect:
*I like to create scenes -- I find it gives a nice direction/arc for the experience. Popular scenes include hair-cutting & spa, or medical check ups (ex: cranial nerve exam, checking for fever/lymph nodes), or being at the library.
*Expect the experience to take about 30min total: 5min set up, 20min session, & optional 5min feedback/debrief
*My style incorporates sound-making instruments like scissor-snipping, tapping, rustling, page turning, soothing scents like lavender, tactile stimuli (warm/cool air, soft fabrics, gentle scalp/face massage), & whispering, which incorporates both sound & sensory. Open to requests!
*The experience is best in a quiet, relaxing place...some people fall asleep during the experience, which is fine! I can travel to you if you are local to SF, or can host.
*I don't think it needs to be said on simbi, but...NO HANKY PANKY! (Also, it's fun to all-caps the word "hanky panky"). And I mean, I get it. If you are new to ASMR & scan the youtube results, I totally wouldn't blame you coming to that conclusion, so don't feel slut shamed or anything! Some of my best friends are sluts! But that's not what this service is about and I wanna be super upfront about that.
What you walk away with honestly may vary. Some people are like, "Huh, that was neat. Thanks for that." Others are like, "You have blown my mind!!!!" At the very least, I think you'll find it a novel experience!
Training & Qualifications
1) I delighted more than 20 people at Burning Man by offering ASMR sessions! My husband is a repeat customer & a huge fan of my work
3) Licensed RN so you know those medical storylines are going to be very true to life
4) 2 semesters of massage class in college
5) Working in psychiatry/mental health and fascinated by mind-body connections as it relates to mental wellness, stress, trauma, & healing
6) Honestly, the main thing is I really love doing this for people. It's a creative yet nurturing way of giving someone a cool experience.
Availability & Preferences
I'd like to do this in-person because I think it adds greatly to the experience. I'm free most weekends if we schedule a week or two out, as well as Tuesday & Wednesday evenings.
