The American Heart Associations' Heartsaver First Aid course teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives. Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke; and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings.
This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training. Class time is approximately 4 hours. Upon successful completion of this course you will receive certification from the American Heart Association, valid for two years.
Training & Qualifications
I'm a certified Pennsylvania EMS Instructor. I work full time on an advanced life support ambulance and I've been an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) since 2009. I teach CPR, first aid, wilderness courses and more.
