About Mail- (chainmail, maille) is a type of armour consisting of small metal rings linked together in a pattern to form a mesh. Earliest examples date back to at least the 4th century BC. It is still used today for protection, but has also found a following for sculpture and jewelry applications.
I am offering classes in the ancient art of chainmaille. The beginning class features two classic favorites "European 4-1" and "Byzantine" (pictured in the ad photo) that can be used to create stunning jewelry or even armor for yourself and great gifts for others.
(Materials and personalized instruction will be provided, all you will need is two sets of pliers. Easily found at your local craft store for under $10 a pair.)
This class is suitable for most ages, and can be held online, at the beach, in your home or at an event.
