Chair Massage - Request

40

40 for fulfilling my request - - Posted Jun 30, 2018

I have a tendency to build up tension in my shoulders and neck - so I'm hoping to find someone locally who can occasionally (maybe every few weeks) provide me with a 30 minute chair massage targeting my shoulders and neck. I prefer a chair - not a table - massage. I'm not even sure that an actual massage chair would be required.

As for location: I think a public place would be best - maybe a park. I can see how maybe a picnic-table bench or park bench might be adaptable? - if you don't have a massage chair (I like to think outside the box).

I don't like to drive, so I'm looking for someone who can be available in my area.

Some possible locations:

- Thornton Civic Center Park (has picnic-tables and park benches; easy access off I-25; next to City Hall and Police Dept)

- Thornton Community Park (picnic-tables and park benches)

I'm near 88th and Washington.

As an old retired guy, my schedule if pretty open.

And yes, just to openly state the obvious - this is a non-sexual massage (in a public place).

Paying in SIMBI, but possibly open to some sort of trade instead.

I need to add - for some reason I don't always get notifications from SIMBI and I don't check SIMBI all that often. So, please forgive me if I don't get back to you - right away.

About Wilbur Klick

I'm a retired guy; in my early 70s. Some of my current hobbies / pursuits are: photography; photo editing; graphic design; yoga; fitness; West Coast Swing; aikido and general handyman kinds of p...rojects. Simbi says I need to write more: My oh my - time flies - I just did a little math and it looks as though I've been in Colorado a little over 30 years. I've been a vagabond thru much of my life - since childhood; around the country and abroad; moved to Boulder from Santa Fe; lived in Boulder and Louisville for a year or two and then moved to the Denver metro area. I'm an agnostic - experimented with different beliefs; never committed to any; pretty secular, but I like new-age and metaphysical because I think magic and mystery is important. Or, as Ken Kesey put it: "I'm for mystery, not interpretive answers. … The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer, but they think they have. So they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer." I guess, not to put too much emphasis on it, I was on a sort of "spirit quest" for - to varying degrees - most of my younger life and into my 50s. I don't think I ever really "arrived". I've had to take time off, from time to time, to pay more attention to to things like food and shelter. Now, I suppose I'm approaching the possibility of putting myself back on the path . Joseph Campbell used to say "Follow your bliss". He wrote The Heroes Journey and The Power of Myth; among others. Campbell talked about heroes, warriors and journeys (influenced Lucas and the creation of Star Wars). Another book that influenced me in my thirties was The Way of the Peaceful Warrior (Dan Millman). You may see a picture forming - a timid explorer on a "journey"; moving from one path to the next, stumbling toward the top of the mountain; stopping, sometimes for years, sheltering in huts and caves along the way. This has been a solitary journey. I am still "timid" in some ways; still "in the dark" in some ways. Maybe if I had another 50 years, I'd make it to the top of that mountain, but - and this is probably kind of important - it's really about the journey - "being" on the path. I'm not "intelligent" by any conventional definition. I'm a shy introvert. "If You Meet The Buddha On The Road, Kill Him" - an old saying probably adapted from a zen koan. My road has been rocky and littered with dead ends and false profits. Blah-blah, blah-blah . . . blah-blah. Everyone - has their own path. Somebody much wiser than I once wrote: You put your whole self in You take your whole self out You put your whole self in And you shake it all about You do the hokey pokey And you turn yourself around That's what it's all about links: Joseph Campbell http://billmoyers.com/content/ep-1-joseph-campbell-and-the-power-of-myth-the-hero%E2%80%99s-adventure-audio/ Dan Millman speaks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mgq5cb3YS0 What is? Can we get "Closer to Truth"? I want "answers" and "mystery" - I want it all. https://www.closertotruth.com/ show more
