SQL Tutoring

I will teach you the ins and outs of coding in SQL. From basic selects to code optimization, I can help you learn how to reformat data to meet your needs. If you're ready to move on from querying to programming, I can teach you how to develop stored procedures and triggers to help automate existing data processes.

This service may utilize databases that I host to help provide a structured learning environment. You do not have to install a database server on your own computer, just a SQL GUI. Take the database administration out of learning the code. I've also got a series of assignments that can help you keep your skills fresh over time.

Training & Qualifications

I have been working in relational databases for over 10 years on many different platforms including Netezza, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, and more. I've done both query and transactional coding across these platforms for BI/reporting, ad hoc analysis, and statistical modeling.

About Lexy Kassan

I'm a geek. A very varied geek. Socially, I am a gaming geek with many years of board game and role-playing game experience including MMORPGs. I'm also into cooking, cross stitch, my dogs, Harry P...otter, Star Trek, and so much more. Not all of these translate readily into services to be offered but if you need to know something about Star Trek, I'm your gal. Professionally, I am a math and computer geek working in a software company as a Senior Data Scientist. I use large quantities of information, combined with programming and statistics, to solve complex problems for big businesses. This has given me skills in SQL (all varieties), Hive, Hadoop, Python, SAS, SPSS, and maybe a few other programming languages. I'm also very familiar with the various relational database management systems generally available such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, SQL Server, and MariaDB as well as some less common ones like Netezza and Hive. I've developed a slight obsession with being more organized and having good habits. It's taken years to kick the bad ones so I might as well replace them with better things.
