I will provide yummy, homemade baked goods: yeast breads, cakes, cookies, and special requests. I can bake vegan and dairy-free, as well as with plenty of eggs and butter! Let me know your allergies and dietary preferences and I will figure out a way to work with you to create something truly delicious!
If you really like a recipe, and want to learn how to make it, let me know! We can set up a baking lesson! I have limited hand usage and use a wheelchair, so I'd also like to teach other people like me techniques and tricks to come up with the perfect treats.
Training & Qualifications
My earliest memory is of sitting on the kitchen counter watching my mom bake chocolate chip cookies. As I grew older, I began to help her. My favorite job was always that of "official taster." :).
When I was married, my ex-husband, who was a vegetarian, developed a serious dairy allergy. He was also allergic to nuts, which are often a mainstay in vegan cuisine. Needless to say, baking for him posed several challenges. I managed to bake things for him that were so delicious that my non-vegan, dairy-loving family and friends didn't miss the butter and eggs.
Availability & Preferences
Fresh baked goods are available twice a week on Wednesdays and weekends. If you want an item, we can arrange pick-up at my house in San Pablo, or we can meet up in the Oakland/Berkeley/El Cerrito area for delivery. In-person baking lessons are taught in my beautiful, newly-remodeled, completely wheelchair-accessible kitchen in San Pablo or virtually upon request on weekends only. Rates: 45 Simbi/ 2.5 hour lesson, 10 simbi/ portion of baked item. Deals welcome!
