Ferret-Sitting
5
Pet-sit your ferret. I love ferrets. I will:
- Feed and water
- Play with
- Watch
- Clean cage
There are many misconceptions regarding ferrets. That they're wild animals, that they're rodents, and some haven't seen a ferret before at all. This may pose a barrier to finding a confident petsitter, at least to a greater degree than say a cat or dog. Ferrets are loosely related to weasels and more specifically they are domesticated from from the European polecat. They have been domesticated for at least as long as cats. They require a high protein diet, also similar to cats. Ferrets can also die of loneliness.
I love ferrets. They can be feisty and playful. Though I've had a couple ferrets, myself, be sure to give instructions for you're unique situation and your beloved pet's needs. Do they need checked up on? Or watched for a period of time? How much freedom are they allowed outside their cage and what areas are restricted? Is there a special diet you give them? Are they litter box trained? Do they have health problems? Do they bite or are they gentle?
Training & Qualifications
My first ferret, Luna (or "Loony"), I got when I was almost 11 years old. My second ferret, Ginny, I got when I was 14. I've also looked though books at the library about ferrets. They are my favorite animal.
